Delicious breakfast and pretty good coffee! The eggs and potatoes were well seasoned and the bacon and sausage patties were cooked perfectly! The menu is extensive and we were impressed with the options available. We ordered coffee while we looked through the menu and it comes in a hefty mug, not one of those tiny mugs that has to be refilled every 5 minutes. The view from the windows are beautiful and you can take your food to go and sit outside on their patio if you’d like. They were only serving the 2 outside tables the front of the restaurant during the time we were there and I’m not sure if that’s because no one asked to sit on the patio or they didn’t have enough staff. Both were probably true. Inside the restaurant looked a bit dated and it was actually rather warm. That’s why I gave atmosphere a 4 rather than a 5 even with the views. Overall, I really enjoyed my breakfast and would return again! Oh, and the pancakes are HUUUUGGGEE!! I ordered one for my “breakfast dessert” and couldn’t believe how big it was.
My family had a great experience dining here. The food was of great quality and portion. The price was very reasonable and the coffee tasted fresh. Our waitress Daisy was super friendly to the kids and attentive to our needs. The outdoor seating area has a great atmosphere. Overall a superb breakfast
Rolling Farms has been one of my favorite places to go eat for a long time, mostly because they serve breakfast all day. The food is always delicious, and always try to get the same amazing waitress.
Knowing that Rolling Farms closed at three, a friend and I arrived one Friday at 2:35pm. I walked up to the door and tried both doors and found them locked, I looked in the window and saw there were people seated and eating.
I worked in the restaurant business for many years and every restaurant that I ever worked in, seated guests up until the closing time, guests were never turned away until after the closing time.
Disappointed we left and went elsewhere.
A few weeks later, went back to Rolling Farms with another friend. We always order the same thing. First of all, the waitress acted like were bothering her, didn't tell us there was a very limited menu (which should have been mentioned the moment we were seated).
She came back to take our order, we gave her our order and was then told we couldn't order what we wanted, and that coffee was no longer available to order as well.
Of course, after asking a few questions we were disappointed, and the waitress ended up sending the owner over to our table.
He walked up to our table and just stood there until we spoke up. He had all kinds of excuses as to why we couldn't order what we wanted, excuses as to why I couldn't have coffee, etc ... I've never in my entire life been told at any restaurant, they were out/not serving coffee.
I then brought up about how I arrived one day 25 minutes before they closed and found both front doors locked. He then proceeded to tell us that the doors were not locked, that I was mistaken and that he is the only person who has a key to the door and he would never lock it. He accused me of lying, not once, but three times during that conversation.
My friend told him I wasn't lying but he was adamant I was. I tried opening BOTH doors. They were very, clearly locked.
I have read other reviews online about other people finding Rolling Farms Cafe doors locked upon arrival way before the websites stated closing time.
If you're going to own a restaurant business, you close at the time stated on your website, you seat up until 3pm. You don't lock the door almost a half hour before the stated closing time on your website.
You also don't accuse regular customers of lying.
If you're that tired, aren't the hospitable people type, don't want to stay past the stated website closing time then you really shouldn't be in the business.
When you own a restaurant, you are married to it and do whatever possible to give your guests a positive experience at your establishment.
Oh, and you don't accuse loyal, local customers of lying.
Their food? Amazing. Customer service? Amazing. Their coffee? AMAZING! We're located on the east side of TC and they deliver to us with no complaint! It's always quick, HOT, and fresh! Not to mention they remember me and recognize my voice! Thank you for being such an AMAZING staple in our community! -Carole Coastal Dermatology
Three strikes and you are out! I have eaten here twice before and both times got disappointing food. Gave it another try today, never again. It was 90 degrees outside and they had all the UV blocking shades up and the doors open. They have a mini-split for A/C, but apparently the owner doesn't understand how these things work. It is up on a hill and gets a lot of sun, which is why you have uv blocking shades on all the windows. Please use them, and give the A/C a chance. My $14 sandwich was mediocre, again. I never complain about prices, but for $14 + a gluten free upcharge, +$4 for a pop, I think you could toast the bread on my tiny sandwich or give us a couple chips. The owner was there and apparently did not care about our complaints, we voiced them before leaving, the waitress was perfectly nice, she told us he made them open all the doors, he could not have cared less about the comfort of his customers.
So far I'm sitting here for over 17 min before I received my drink. I ordered and a cutomer came in to order and recieved her order before mine. Owner is off going threw customers photos on thr phone and NOT HELPING anyone in kitchen. Order for 1 sandwich only has now took over 30 in here and owner is still not helping and just chit-chatting with anyone and everyone he can. I will not be back nor will my friends until i hear he has decided to help his employees. Owner needs to move move move to help customers. Not just use restaurant as a front to make friends. Ty ps. Still have not received food at table 40 min later. It is just a social group here. I recommend a to-go if u so chose to eat here. Call about 30 min ahead for a sandwich. Sandwich was a bit dry but flavor of roast beef is amazing. I had a amazing waitress . Samantha and liz
Waste of time and money most over priced food and poor service. Will not be returning here anytime soon. Payed 11.75$ for a BLT with 2 strips of bacon and nothing else no fries or even chips. J&S offer more than that and have more bacon.
Great food and very friendly staff. Make you feel right at home. Fantastic views over Traverse City.
